Russia launched 142 attack and decoy drones overnight in a massive assault on Ukraine.
Explosions rocked Kherson, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro, Ukraine’s Air Force reported on Telegram.
Sixteen drones struck ten separate sites, while Ukrainian defenses shot down 126 drones.
At least two civilians died and 14 suffered injuries in Kherson, local media reported.
The strike damaged nine houses, medical and educational facilities, an administrative building, a gas station, and several cars.
In Odesa, reports confirmed one civilian injured. Chornomorsk suffered the heaviest destruction.
Governor Oleg Kiper said attacks crippled Odesa’s energy network, leaving 29,000 residents without electricity.
“Restoration work has already begun. Critical facilities use generators,” Kiper wrote on Telegram.
Zelenskyy Condemns Moscow’s Continued Assaults
Zelenskyy said Russia’s third large-scale strike this week proved the war would not stop without global pressure.
He stated Russia continues to escalate violence while seeking to intimidate Ukrainian cities and regions.
The president stressed Ukraine needs continued international support to counter Russia’s relentless bombardment.
Heavy Russian Losses Reported in Donetsk
Zelenskyy confirmed Russia suffered “heavy losses” in the Pokrovsk sector, where Moscow focuses its main offensive efforts.
He said Ukrainian units continue carrying out missions across Donetsk while systematically destroying Russian forces.
Zelenskyy reported that in eight months Russia has lost over 290,000 soldiers killed or severely wounded.
He praised Ukraine’s frontline soldiers for resisting Moscow’s attempts to seize more territory.
