    Zelenskyy Refuses Moscow Meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected Vladimir Putin’s proposal to meet in Moscow, calling it unrealistic and unsafe. Zelenskyy told ABC News that Ukraine faces daily missile attacks and heavy shelling, making travel to Moscow impossible. He insisted that Putin should come to Kyiv instead.

    Trump Pushes Direct Talks

U.S. President Donald Trump urged face-to-face meetings between Zelenskyy and Putin, making them a key goal of his Alaska summit. Trump said the leaders would meet after Zelenskyy visits Washington and holds talks with European leaders. Moscow added extra conditions, delaying negotiations while intensifying attacks on Ukrainian cities. This week, Putin claimed he was ready to meet in Moscow. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov clarified that the invitation was “to talk, not to capitulate.” In Paris, Zelenskyy argued inviting him to Moscow only proves Russia does not want genuine talks. Trump later told CBS News that talks would happen, without providing a timeline.

    Zelenskyy Condemns Russian Escalation

Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched over 1,300 drones, nearly 900 guided bombs, and roughly 50 missiles in the first five days of September. The strikes targeted 14 Ukrainian regions. Zelenskyy accused Russia of prolonging the war and turning diplomacy “into a blatant farce.” He called on Ukraine’s allies to strengthen sanctions, increase weapons supplies, and restrict Russian oil and gas trade effectively.
