Afghan Forces Claim Deadly Clash with Pakistan

Afghanistan announced its troops killed 58 Pakistani soldiers during overnight clashes along the border.
Officials said the attack came after repeated violations of Afghan territory and airspace by Pakistan.
Earlier in the week, Afghan leaders accused Pakistan of bombing Kabul and an eastern market, though Pakistan denied involvement.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Afghan forces seized 25 Pakistani posts and injured 30 enemy soldiers.

Kabul Vows Strong Response to Border Violations

Mujahid told reporters that Afghan troops now control all official borders and have stopped most illegal activity.
The Taliban Defence Ministry said Afghan forces launched “successful and retaliatory operations” to defend national sovereignty.
Officials warned that any future violation of Afghan territory would face a “strong and decisive” military response.
Pakistan has previously targeted alleged militant bases inside Afghanistan’s mountains, leading to recurring border tensions.

    Regional Tensions Threaten Wider Conflict

Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of sheltering Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan fighters responsible for deadly attacks on its soil.
Kabul rejects the allegation, insisting it prevents any group from using Afghan land to attack other nations.
Pakistan continues to face rising militancy near its Afghan frontier while also blaming India for supporting armed groups.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed Pakistan’s army “destroyed several Afghan posts” and forced troops to retreat.
Pakistani forces released videos showing damaged Afghan checkpoints, but journalists could not verify the footage independently.
Military officials said Afghan troops fired across several border zones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Pakistani army reported killing over 200 “Taliban and allied militants,” with many more reportedly injured.
